A New Approach to Construct the Operator on Lattice for the Calculation of Glueball Masses
نویسندگان
چکیده
We develop a new approach to construct the operator on lattice for the calculation of glueball mass, which is based on the connection between the continuum limit of the chosen operator and the quantum number J of the state studied. The spin of the state studied in this approach is then determined uniquely and directly in numerical simulation. Furthermore, the approach can be applied to calculate the mass of glueball states (ground or excited states) with any spin J including J ≥ 4. Under the quenched approximation, we present a pre-calculation result for the mass of 0 state and 2 state, which are 1754(85)(86)MeV and 2417(56)(117)MeV , respectively.

Lattice Calculation of Glueball Matrix Elements
Matrix elements of the form < 0|Tr g2GG|G > are calculated using the lattice QCD Monte Carlo method. Here, |G > is a glueball state with quantum numbers 0++, 2++, 0−+ and G is the gluon field strength operator. The matrix elements are obtained from the hybrid correlation functions of the fuzzy and plaquette operators performed on the 124 and 144 lattices at β = 5.9 and 5.96 respectively. These ...
متن کاملSU(3) glueballs on coarse, anisotropic lattices
Results from a calculation of the low-lying glueball spectrum of pure-gauge SU(3) are used as a test of the effectiveness of improved discretisation schemes in reducing finite spacing errors. Glueball masses are extracted from simulations on anisotropic lattices, where the temporal lattice spacing is much shorter than the spatial ones. This allows clearer resolution of the decay of glueball cor...
متن کاملGlueball Mass Spectrum from Supergravity∗
We review the calculation of the spectrum of glueball masses in non-supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory using the conjectured duality between supergravity and large N gauge theories. The glueball masses are obtained by solving the supergravity wave equations in a black hole geometry. The glueball masses found this way are in unexpected agreement with the available lattice data. We also show how to...

متن کاملGlueball Regge trajectories and the pomeron: a lattice study
We perform lattice calculations of the lightest J = 0,2,4,6 glueball masses in the D = 3 + 1 SU(3) gauge theory and extrapolate to the continuum limit. Assuming that these masses lie on linear Regge trajectories we find a leading glueball trajectory α(t) = 0.93(24) + 0.28(2)α′ R t , where α′ R 0.9 GeV−2 is the slope of the usual mesonic Regge trajectory. This glueball trajectory has an intercep...
